If Daniel Hannan has taken seriously anything from Greenpeace up to this point I gotta say he is more gullible than I would ever have given him credit for. I haven’t believed any Greenpeace spokesman on any topic since the fiasco of Brent Spar.

Hell, if Greenpeace were to declare the sun were due to rise in the east tomorrow morning I would look for independent confirmation.

  1. Lynne says:

Hannan, for all his EU-sceptic credentials and clever speeches, backs “Carbon Cutting” Scameron. That’s all I need to know about the man.

  2. john in cheshire says:

Me likewise regarding greenpeace and Brent Spar; I was marginally associated with it at the time and I know the greenpeace option was, to say the least, the less than ideal solution. Up to that point, I was a member but I cancelled my subscription at that time. Surprisingly, to me, my cancellation wasn’t questioned by the greenpeace lot; I took that to mean they didn’t really care if I was a member or not. Now, I wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole.

  3. Laird says:

Greenpeace has always been liars. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either woefully naive or part of their agenda.

I always thought that those harassed whalers should just run over the Greenpeace boats and not tell anyone. The world would be a better place.

  4. mike says:

Hannan is a wet lettuce stroking a carrot.

But he’s also a British politician (so: understatement) and his primary intended audience would certainly not have been libertarians.

If he never said another word… I wouldn’t notice. Dellers is a far bigger player.

  5. kat pajama says:

O/T- the graphic of CCIZ is brilliant.

  6. NickM says:

Look guys you gotta get with the program! Greenpeace belong to a politicl tradition stretching back to Plato’s Republic – the idea of the Noble Lie is an i9ntrinsic part of their culture. I suspect they don’t even distyinguish truth from falsehood – but rather good from bad. “Good” of course in this context being their agenda.
