Yeah, like we care…

I see via Dick Puddlecote that we were voted 45th best libertarian blog by the TotalPolitics mob. Not bad considering we never asked anyone to vote, although we do seem to be trailing behind people I’ve never even heard of (ahead of the Freedom Association though, which is quite amusing).

But somebody must be reading this nonsense besides ourselves. So that’s nice.

Vote? What vote? I didn’t know there was even one going on. Nope, I couldn’t care less either, but as you say Sam, nice to know somebody is reading us.

Just been looking at the TotalPolitics site (not something I have read before) and it looks to be one for total twonks, little diffferent from the MSM in tone approach and fatuousness.

They seem to have lists for everything, most of which make no sense to me. How can a list of top 100 Conservative bloggers not contain Dan Hannan? yet he comes third in top political bloggers? Ridiculous inconsistency, but then that’s lists for you.

I used to get asked to list my top five albums of the year around Christmas time, for whatever Mag I was writing for then, and politely declined every time. Sorry, but I just don’t see things in terms of lists, they prove nothing other than the Zeitgist and ballots can be rigged can’t they?

It’s quality that counts! And we have that in spades, don’t we boys and girls? :-)

  2. NickM says:

    6 (7) Underdogs Bite Upwards

    47 Leg Iron

Er… I know Leggy moved (quite a while back) but… Sloppy from TP!

I should have posted asking for votes but I didn’t. I don’t know why.

  3. CountingCats says:

we have never touted for votes before, why start now?

At least we know that any support we get is both genuine and spontaneous, and not urged on anyone.

I’m happy to be part of the great unwashed.

  4. NickM says:

“I’m happy to be part of the great unwashed.”

    Yeah, but you’re Australian ;-)

We have standards here – lower ones.

Seriously though we should have put something-up to say the vote was on.

  5. Bod says:

Nah. No point in pimping for plaudits.

The way the world’s going, you don’t *want* to be on a list. What does it get you? Now but trolls and spambots.

If you were running EvilGoogle Ads or something like that, it might make some sense.

  6. MickC says:

People read it ‘cos it isn’t nonsense. Funny how honesty gets support, even now.

  7. Ian B says:

We might have a few more readers if the site could serve more than half a dozen simultaneously without slowing to a crawl or falling over entirely, just MHO of course.

  8. Ian B says:

…and sure enough, posting the above comment was greeted with the CCinZ catchphrase, “This page cannot be displayed”. Sigh.

  9. Sam Duncan says:

Nah, I’m with Cats, Nick. First, I really don’t care about Hello!Politics (although publicity for our ideas is always welcome), and second, as he says, at least we know our support is genuine and spontaneous.
