   I thought there was something fishy about the disappearance of the new OWS Exposed website:

   About 4 hours after the launch of OWSexposed.com was reported by Powerline, the website was attacked by hackers.

   Powerline itself reports:

   … when we linked to the brand new web site Occupy Wall Street Exposed, it almost immediately came under a denial of service attack by liberals. The site was down much of the afternoon yesterday, but was back up again this morning.

   They don’t like it up ‘em.

   (I have to agree with some of the comments there though: I’d like to know who’s behind the site. The domain’s registered through 1&1, so that doesn’t help much. Not that it really matters, since it’s just aggregating local news stories with no original content, but it’d be nice to know.)

   No, they do not like it up ‘em:

   Anonymous plans to take down the Fox News Web site on November 5, according to a new video apparently released by the hacker group.

   The group said it is targeting the network for what it called biased news coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protests occurring in cities across the country.

   The network’s “continued right-wing, conservative propaganda against the occupations” is the group’s catalyst for its intention of “destroying the Fox News Web site,” a digitally generated voice on the video explains. “Since they will not stop belittling the occupiers, we will simply shut them down.”

   Simply shut them down. Yes, that’s the answer. That’s their new world. Censorship. Nice.

   Good comments Sam - and, of course, “conservative propaganda” was actually factual reporting by Fox News journalists (most of whom voted for Obama in 2008).

   As for the original quote in the post.

   It was true when Buckley said it.

   “Liberals” in the English speaking world were still caught between the origins of liberalism (a basically anti big govenrment set of principles) and the modern socialist definition of “liberal” (at least in the English speaking world).

   However, time has moved on…….

   These days most “liberals” have no problem with censorship - they just call speech they wish to ban “hate speech”.

   De facto banning (or sabotage of) critical reporting of the noble “Occupation Forces” would be considerd fine by modern “liberals”.

   They are no longer the conflicted people that Buckley talked of.

   Now they are just evil.
