What percentage of the British Public do you think are religious in any meaningful sense of the word? Please specify.
Anyway, I think it’s a fascinating question and I suspect it hinges on the word “meaningful”. And I guess on how one defines religion. I mean can the word be applied equally to Buddhism as to Islam? Or are can it be used equally about evangelizing faiths such as Christianity (that claim universality) and almost closed-shops such as Judaism (which almost by definition doesn’t)?
My personal feeling is I’d put it at somewhere from 15-25%.
Also, seeing as I have just been assaulted by a squirrel in my own dining room (I am not making this up) what calibre air-rifle do you suggest to waste the little American interlopers (coming over here, eating all our nuts… cunts)? Our own red squirrels are of course cute and wear waistcoats.
So there you have it. The two burning questions of the day.
