Impartial BBC Quote of the Day

The Tea Party… I mean, chimps or what?

BBC Scotland presenter Janice Forsyth guest Susan Morrison, during a debate about political humour. The subject in question was which politicians are funny. The TP was mentioned twice, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, and George W. Bush once.

If other targets emerged – some, I don’t know, Scottish ones, maybe – I apologise (although not for highlighting the crack from the unbiased public employee); I switched off after about three minutes. Maybe other Kitty Kounters have better blood pressure.

Edit: total, indignance-induced, incompetence. My apologies to Ms. Forsyth are without reservation.

  1. Paul Marks says:

If the BBC was operating in a free market they could indulge their political bias as much they like – as far as I am concerned.

But they demand a television tax …..

  2. Janice Forsyth says:

    I said no such thing.

In the programme – the Comedy Cafe – there were vox pops, which I did not conduct, in which people expressed their views about politicians – the Tea Party was mentioned in those. I made no comment about the Tea Party and would like you to remove my name from this quote. Thank you.

  3. CountingCats says:

    Is she right?

    I dunno, I didn’t see/listen to it.

If she is, we have an obligation……

  4. Sam Duncan says:

Yes, Cats, of course we do. And she’s absolutely right. In my defence, her guest, Susan Morrison, rather monopolized the debate and I simply assumed she was the presenter. But that’s no excuse, and I apologise.
