The leaders are insane

Jesus Christ Almighty, you’ve got to be kidding:

Imagine, pre-9/11/12, that you were responsible for arranging the defense of the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Would you have considered American interests and personnel best protected by bringing in a local security outfit called the February 17 Martyrs Brigade?

The question has yet to come up in House hearings, but I think it holds the key to the Obama administration’s betrayal of the American people in “Benghazi-gate.” To an American with common sense not subverted by advanced degrees, the thought of putting Islamic “martyrs” in charge of American “infidels” in Benghazi — which, fun fact, literally means “city of holy warriors” — would trigger the inevitable “heck, no.” And that’s without even knowing what is significant about Feb. 17.

These people are so obsessed by a need not to appear prejudiced (all together now, lets chant – Political correctness gone mad) they are prepared to see Americans dead rather than face reality in front of their friends.

I don’t know about this but I thought it was default that Marines guarded embassy premises around the world?

By some reports, not in the MSM, the Ambassador was raped and tortured before he was killed. He does seem to have been regarded as disposable by his masters, whom he served almost his entire adult working life.

But I can see no cui bono here.

The political bosses could see what was going on (live feed) from both a camera in the building and a camera in a drone that went over (almost needless to say no armed drone was sent to help).

Obama, Biden and the others knew perfectly well that this was not some anti Youtube clip demo – this was a full scale terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11 (something the Ambassador had been warning D.C. about for days).

    Their motive for doing nothing?

Partly ideology – Muslims are nice (the Ambassador is just in a panic), any big American force will just “provoke” (“America is the problem”).

But also the ELECTION – after all Comrade Barack is running on having defeated Islamist terrorism (supposedly a tiny minority of Muslims).

Admitting that Islamists terrorists are all over the place would be a bad as admitting that the Taliban in Afghanistan (which both the Americans and the British are trying to do a deal with) is NOT a “nationalist” force, but is an Islamist force – as concerned about making Denver Islamist as it is about making Afghan cities fully Islamist.

    On the positive side…..

The Islamist (Muslim Brotherhood) candidate for Prime Minister just lost the vote in the Libyan Parliament.

Perhaps most Libyans do not approve of what was done to the American Ambassador – so his death was, perhaps, not for nothing.

But no thanks to Comrade Barack – although he has got Mrs Clinton to fall under the bus for him.

I have actually lived in a pre-Gadaffi Benghazi and my brother was born there. Mostly the resident population, as I remember them, were polite and friendly. We got on with them well enough and never felt threatened even when we went shopping in the native souk (it was much cheaper and the produce much fresher than that of the NAAFI).

I suspect that Libyans as a whole are little different today but are tarred with the same brush as the fundamentalist zealots and their moronic groupies. There is also the real fear of being permanently silenced should they speak out against the ruling regime. At least their voting voice has not been silenced. Let us hope that it remeains heeded.
