Another nail in the coffin for Warble Gloaming

At the Earth’s surface, heat fluxes from the interior are generally insignificant compared with those from the Sun and atmosphere, except in areas permanently blanketed by ice. Modelling studies show that geothermal heat flux influences the internal thermal structure of ice sheets and the distribution of basal melt water, and it should be taken into account in planning deep ice drilling campaigns and climate reconstructions

Global Warming my arse, where's that bloody fox?

Global Warming my arse, where’s that bloody fox?

Although I am not a scientist, I have always had a deep-seated interest in science and a great appreciation for the rigour of the scientific method, as such I find the abuse of scientific method to push specific agenda’s as the IPCC, CRU and others have done to be intolerable.

As each piece of additional scientific evidence weakens the argument against CAGW (Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming) by showing additional natural factors leading to cycles of both warming and cooling over decades / centuries / millennia, I keep expecting the scientific establishment to rise up and rid itself of this heresy, but I am serially disappointed.

This is the problem with scientific funding being controlled by those with their own agendas, especially overtly political ones such as the watermelons.

Speaking of which, heartily recommend James Delingpole’s book on the subject of “Watermelons”

Yet still the warmist zombie rises and walks. Where is Ash Williams when we need him?

  2. Julie near Chicago says:

Talk about putting a Bear on a Pedestal!

    I love that shot. LOL!

  3. RAB says:

We have a brand of Sweets (Candy to the Yanks) that are called Fox’s Glacier Mints, the logo can be seen here (just)…

It was very confusing to us small boys, the juxtaposition of the name Fox and the Polar Bear standing on a block of ice which is in fact the mint itself, but the mints are lovely!

  4. John Galt says:

Thanks RAB. At least someone got the joke….

Although in fairness to Julie, it was both dated and Anglo-centric.

  5. DP says:

    Dear Mr Galt

Surely CAGW means Computer Aided Global Warming.

  6. John Galt says:

Don’t get me wrong, climate change is a continual and ongoing process as it has been for the last 4.6 billion years since the solar system formed and the earth developed a crust.

It will go on until the sun turns into a red giant and consumes the earth.

As it stands right now anyone who believes in “CAGW” as in Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming is either being deceived or is an idiot. There is no pending (or occurring) catastrophe as climate change is an ongoing process, sometimes increasing temperatures, sometimes decreasing them, but over periods of decades, centuries and millennia.

Is there an anthropogenic element, almost certainly, but equally it is miniscule in comparison to the non-anthropogenic elements such as sun, oceanic absorption, volcanos, etc.

Anyone who understands the scientific method acknowledges climate change as a fact, anyone who understands the scientific method understands that the human contribution is negligible, to the point of being a rounding error.

  7. Julie near Chicago says:

Or, putting it another way, “I am Oz, the Great and Mighty! Look on my Works ye Mighty, and despair!”

Heh–I never got the point of Baum’s Oz until just this second. If the conclusion to which I leap is correct, of course.

Thank you, RAB and JG, for explaining the joke to this ignorant Provincial. I thought the incongruity of placing the Polar Bear upon a pedestal (as if the species were an object of worship) was pretty funny, but I did wonder what the heck it had to do with foxes.
