The family expands

I just thought I would share this with you.

Back in June, 2013, I met an attractive lady in a coffee shop in Brisbane. We got along kinda well, met a few times, and, as these things can lead to, yesterday, at noon, in a beachside park at Burleigh Heads here on Queenslands Sunny Gold Coast, we married – at my age as well.

Sigh.

Anyway, meet the new, freshly minted, Mrs Cats.

Congratz to you both! And what a lovely setting for the ceremony.

  2. Will Williams says:

Great news. Thanks for sharing and all the best for the future.

  3. Mark in Mayenne says:

    Congratulations!

  4. Julie near Chicago says:

Congratulations to you and the new Missus, Mr. Cats. She surely is fetching, and I suspect very sweet. She looks rather pleased. :>)))

May the two of you have a long and happy life together And thank you for letting us know!

  5. Julie near Chicago says:

This is too, too weird. My Congrats comment shows up TWICE in the “Latest Comments” list, but I am told (right after MiM’s Congrats) that it is Awaiting Moderation.

I do not understand these newfangled machines, funny languages, little dots with weird names like “pixels,” &c. In my day, if you had something to say to somebody you just climbed onto your brontosaurus and rode over there and said it.

I think I will see what I can see.

  6. RAB says:

Hearty congrats both! 36 up for me and Ness.

  7. NickM says:

I’m sure I commented on the happy event earlier but…

…but let’s hope the lady makes an honest gent of you Cats! And if she knows anything of servers that is a bonus.

I wish you both the greatest happiness.

Strange PS… If I were to consider a honeymoon in the coming months I’d seriously consider your Gold Coast in the coming er…. Spring (you upside-down people, you!) But it isn’t really an option for you two is it? It would be like me and Lizzy going to Southport.

  8. Sam Duncan says:

Congratulations, Cats! My very best wishes to you both.

Hey, it’s never too late (I keep telling myself). I recently discovered that a primary school teacher of mine who retired, a spinster, in the early ’80s, went off to live in the US, met a bloke over there, and they celebrated their silver wedding a couple of years ago. I always wondered what happened to her, but never expected that. :)

“It would be like me and Lizzy going to Southport.”

My grandparents honeymooned in Belgium. Back in the ’20s, that was what passed for exotic.

  9. NickM says:

Was there anything much left of Belgium in the ’20s? I mean we’d even nabbed the top detective.

  10. CountingCats says:

Southport? Check the map. That place is just a couple of miles up the road from Burleigh Heads – which is where I live, BTW..

  11. David in Surrey says:

Congrats to you both and all happiness to the pair of you.

And to think I was in Hope Island only a week or so ago!! As 86 said – missed it by that much.

  12. Lynne at Counting Cats says:

    Q. When is a Zanzibarian Cat not a Zanzibarian Cat?

    A. When he’s a dark horse!

Great news, Cats. Congratulations to you both. :D

  13. CountingCats says:

    Hope Island?

And you didn’t ring to have a beer?

    Shame on you.

  14. The Jannie says:

Congrats from all at the home for the bewildered.

  15. David in Surrey says:

Sorry Cats, didn’t realise I was so close at the time. Even watched my godson play AFL at currumbin then had a burger on the beach at coolongatta. You’re right shame on me. Probably walked past each other on the street!!!
Will certainly make contact next trip.

  16. Paul Marks says:

    Congratulations to both of you!

  17. CountingCats says:

    David,

Well, you certainly drove past the Cats house.

    BTW: Coolangatta.

  18. David in Surrey says:

Soz. Unintentional typo. I blame Steve Jobs for it, my damn iPhone changes the spelling from the correct to the incorrect. Sigh.

Hope you’re having a good honeymoon.
