Four Horsemen

The G20 protests in London today consist mainly of four columns advancing from different directions on The City.

Each is headed up by a (symbolic) horse and represents the Four Horsemen (in reality the four pedestrians looking like novelty runners in a marathon) of the Apocalypse of Capitalism.

The symbolism is delicious. These protests are organised by Greens, Anarchists, Anti-Capitalists and Communists… Otherwise known as Pestilence, War, Famine and Death.

It’s all rather quaint, really. They think a downturn and the inevitable failure of state intervention to reverse it is some kind of “Apocalypse of Capitalism”. It’s like the Sealed Knot Society, except for confused lefties mourning the 20th Century.

    Tsk, Nick.

You, of all bloggers, should know better. Where is Horseman Reg?

  3. NickM says:

Yeah, I saw Reg. He was protesting heavily with a placard saying, “Down with this sort of thing!” and a T-shirt saying, “Careful Now!”.

I just wished the cops (etc) had just buggered off done the pub and the unwashed scum had been allowed to tear the designer-dressed scum limb from limb and then whatever was left had all been VXed.

    Not really. Careful now…
