Words of the Prophet

Translation of Sahih BukhariVolume 9, Book 87, Number 123:

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet said, “Whoever has seen me in a dream, then no doubt, he has seen me, for Satan cannot imitate my shape.

  1. WalterBoswell says:

    Alisa Said,

I think CC is commenting on the poor quality of Satan’s playdoe.

  2. RAB says:

And given that ‘ol Mo isnt depictable
How would you know it was him or a cunning replica by Satan?

You dont know what he looks like you jihadi dorks!

Well up there with the Marx bros

Everybody knows there aint no Sanity Clause!

  3. CountingCats says:

I think CC is commenting on the poor quality of Satan’s playdoe.

Well, that and the quality of the ramblings used to construct a ‘religion’.

  4. NickM says:

This isn’t an oblique reference to the Satanic Verses is it?
You of course know why the Ummah went batshit over Mr Rushdie’s book don’t you?

The original Satanic Verses incident is the dirty little secret about the Koran which must never be mentioned.

Because if it is mentioned then the whole rambling thing looks shonky as hell.

  5. CountingCats says:

Nope, it’s just a hadith selected for its weirdness.

  6. Sunfish says:

So, what does the Hadith say about “Say, Mr. Mohammed, did you say your name was? You have a driver’s license I could look at real quick? You don’t mind if I check you out real quick, just to make sure you don’t have something I need to worry about, do you? Could you put your hands behind your back, lace your fingers for me? Thanks!”

I’m probably in some kind of trouble for that, aren’t I?
