My wife fell asleep on the sofa tonight.
A few minutes back she opened her eyes briefly and said, “I’m not entirely convinced…”. I tried ask as to what but she slunk back into sleep.
It occurs to me that that gnomic comment is quite profound. On the one hand without a subject it is utterly meaningless but on the other the lack of a subject implies generality.
I’m sold.
It’s a hell of a phrase to live by.
And quite Zen.


Well, I don’t know. I’m not entirely convinced.
I’ve only ever been entirely convinced about one thing in my life. Turned out I was wrong.
